MACON, GA – Evelyn Smallwood Eddy, 82, passed away December 21, 2021. Funeral services will be held 3:00pm Sunday December 26, 2021 at New Haven Baptist Church. Pastor Loretta Faulk will be officiating. Burial will follow in the New Haven Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Eddy was born in Ivey, GA to the late Willard Lee Smallwood and Lillian Aretta Champion Smallwood. She was preceded in death by her husband John William Eddy, her brothers and sisters, Jesse Smallwood, Allen Smallwood, Willie Lee Wood, Patricia Smallwood, and Odessa Westgate. Mrs. Eddy was a charter member of Bridges of Hope and Restoration Church. She had eight brothers and sisters that she helped raise after her mother passed away when Mrs. Eddy was only 10 years old. She had six children herself and also helped take care of her nieces and nephews. She was loved by many and would step in to help as a mentor, advisor, or whatever was needed of her. She is survived by her sons, Leon Etheridge (Sherry), Alan Harper (Sheila) and Michael Eddy; daughters, Lynette Smith (Bill), Loretta Faulk (Tommy) and Kristy Lewis (Benny); brothers, Calvin Smallwood (Brenda), Charlie Smallwood (Elaine); sister, Deborah Cobb (Phillip); 18 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren also survive.
