Franklin E. “Frank” Hendrix
DRY BRANCH – Franklin Eugene “Frank” Hendrix, 71, of GA Hwy 129, passed away Friday October 4, 2024 in Macon.
Service will be held Wednesday October 9, 2024 at 3:00PM at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Danville, GA. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Hendrix was born in Waycross, GA the son of the late Dean and Willene Harris Hendrix. He was preceded in death by his sister Betty H. Smith and his brother William Hendrix. Frank was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He devoted his life to ministry and had a passion for molding the younger generation. He was a youth and children’s pastor, a foster parent and a music/drama teacher. He built amazing sets and directed huge vacation Bible school productions. He was also a praise and worship leader, he directed many choirs and wrote, produced and directed several well known plays throughout the state of Georgia. He had a deep love for theater and loved participating in period reenactments. He was a gifted folk artist that could turn any piece of junk into something beautiful.
If you were around him you knew you were going to laugh, and be encouraged in your walk with Jesus. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and community.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela Stone Hendrix. His children, Hilary (Casey) Pierce, Nathan (Jessica) Hendrix, and Dennis Hendrix. His grandchildren, Haleigh (Dylan) Loyd, Nate Hendrix, Cayden Hendrix, Georgia Pierce, Ashleigh Hendrix, Cody Pierce, Connor Hendrix, Emma Pierce, and Chase Hendrix. One Great Grandchild, Hayes Loyd. His brother Hershel Hendrix, and his sister Dorothy H. (Donald) Trull, and by Kim (Wayne) Merritt and Tanya (Johnny) Massengill. Several nieces and nephews also survive, along with his beloved pet “Lucy”.
The family will receive friends from 1:00PM to 3:00PM Wednesday before services in the church.
