RICHMOND HILL, GA – Larry E. Cobb, 85 of Brookshire Dr., passed away Thursday September 7, 2023 in Savannah, GA.


Services will be held Tuesday September 12, 2023 at 2:00PM in the Jeffersonville Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Jeffersonville City Cemetery. Rev. Daniel Wright will officiate.


Mr. Cobb was born November 16, 1937 in McIntyre, GA, the son of the late Hugh Christopher Cobb and Ruth Brewer Cobb, and was preceded in death by his son Larry Scott Cobb, by his granddaughter Lindsay Knight, and by his sister Delores Hopkins After Larry graduated from Twiggs County High School, he joined the United States Navy where he served from 1956 to 1960. After returning from San Diego, CA, he began working at Armstrong Cork Company and later became the owner of Phillips Grocery in Jeffersonville. After several years in the grocery business, he and his brother Ashley established L&A Auto Parts in Jeffersonville. On October 7, 1957, he married his high school sweetheart Glendwon Phillips and they had three children, Scotty, Laurie, and Hugh. After retiring, Larry spent most of his time fishing and enjoying time at their home on Lake Sinclair. Larry was an active member of the Jeffersonville Baptist Church for over 60 years.


Survivors include his wife, Glendwon P. Cobb. His daughter Laurie Cobb Rodgers (husband Steve) and their children, Wes Rodgers, Seth Rodgers, and Maggie (Ryan) Jennings. His son Hugh Cobb (wife Tammy) and their children Olivia (Edward) Lowe, and Josh Cobb. He is also survived by Scotty’s children, Ryan Cobb, Chase Cobb, and Jordan Wilson. His Brother Ashley Cobb, and his Sister, Arlene Moore. Great Grandchildren, Braden Cobb, Braylee Cobb, Arie Lowe, Piper Jennings, and James Jennings.


The family will receive friends from 1:00PM until 2:00PM Tuesday in church before services.
