Myrtice L. Brown DANVILLE – Myrtice Long Brown, 91, of Stevens St., passed away peacefully in God’s care, Saturday February 12, 2022, in Cochran. Graveside services will be held Tuesday February 15, 2022 at 2:00PM, at Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Steve Hamrick will officiate. Mrs. Brown was born in Cochran to Jack Lee Long and Adel H. Long. Myrtice was one of three sets of twins blessed to her loving parents. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her precious, loving husband, Warren H. “Pete” Brown; her twin sister Myrtle L. Brown, and sister, Jean Warren; brothers, Royce Long, Joyce Long, and Harvey Long. Myrtice was an excellent cook and loved cooking for others. Because she loved Christmas and giving to others, family members affectionately called her Christmas Granny. She retired from work at age 81, having spent most of her work history passionately caring for the elderly and medically fragile. She was a member of Hartford Baptist Church in Hawkinsville. Myrtice loved her family and friends. Her life will be forever cherished by her daughter, Carol (Larry) Stone. Grandchildren Michele (Sean) Fowler, and Michael (Jennifer) Stone. Great Grandchildren, Beau Stone and Seth (Halee) Childers. She is also survived by one brother Jack “Pete” Long, and a host of extended family and friends. The family wishes to thank the Staff at Bryant Health and Rehabilitation for the love and care they have given to Myrtice while she was in their care.
