Randy Branan JEFFERSONVILLE - Randall “Randy” George Branan, was born March 16, 1947, to William Stokes Branan and Louise Parker Branan and left us on the evening of January 4, 2021. Randy earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business with an accounting major from Georgia Southwestern University and proudly served as a Sgt. in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War Era. He is survived by his wife Gail (Roughton) Branan, daughter Rebecca Branan Smith (Jason), sons Patrick Stokes Branan and Lee Parker Branan, grandson Austin Gabriel Smith and granddaughter Kinsley Grace Smith. Randy was many things to many people; husband to Gail, Daddy to Rebecca, Patrick and Lee, Gaga to Austin and Kinsley. The sum total of those roles was so much more than that and encompassed anything and everything his family needed him to be and do at any given moment. Provider, financial wizard, dishwasher, grocery shopper, household deep cleaner, yards man, gardener, car maintenance guru, bringer of morning coffee. He was the maker of Christmas magic and the Halloween legend of Virginia Circle who dispensed candy in the persona of the Grim Reaper. For his grandchildren, he was the planner of skate dates, slip and slides on the rocks of Indian Springs, boat rides on Lake Sinclair, fishing and canoeing at the Ocmulgee Public Fishing Area, and tailgates for Friday Night Lights Bleckley County Royals Football games. Simply put, he was his family’s biggest fan. Like Thomas the Tank Engine (with whom the family grew well-acquainted during grandson Austin’s toddler years) he always strove to be a “useful engine”. His motto in life was to do the best he could with what he had, a mission he performed admirably and with outstanding and unmitigated success. His family has no doubt that he will continue his stewardship over their shoulders and he will be with all of them, always. A Gathering of Family and Friends to Celebrate Randy’s Life will be held Friday January 8, 2021, from 12:30Pm to 2:00PM at Reece Funeral Home. Visit www.reecefuneralhomeinc.com to express tributes.
