DRY BRANCH – Thomas James Sapp, 80, of Riggins Mill Rd., passed away Monday October 7, 2024 at his residence.


Graveside Services will be held Thursday October 10, 2024 at 3:00PM at the Herring Family Cemetery. Rev. Alan Sanders will officiate.


Mr. Sapp was born in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Thomas “Seapappy” and Verna Rudd Sapp. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Roberson, his mother Willie “Ma” Sapp, and by his brothers Marvin Sapp and John Sapp. Mr. Sapp was in the Towing business and was a retired Correctional Officer with the state of Georgia. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving in the Vietnam War where he was a Purple Heart recipient. He attended Stone Creek Baptist Church.


Survivors include his children, Trixie (Randy) McGowan, David (Alexander) Sapp, Kevin (Shawna) Sapp, Tommy Sapp, Scott (Amanda) Sapp and Shannon (Christy) Sapp. Fourteen Grandchildren and Seven Great Grandchildren.


The family will receive friends from 2:00PM to 3:00PM Thursday before services in the cemetery.
