Arthur Thompson, Sr.

DANVILLE – Arthur Thompson, Sr., 81, or Canton Rd., went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Monday June 12, 2023.

Services will be held Wednesday June 14, 2023 at 3:00PM, at Mount Zion Baptist Church. Rev. Dwayne Bedingfield will officiate.

Mr. Thompson was born in Danville, GA the son of the late Henry Alvin and Mae Lynn Thompson. He was preceded in death by an infant sister Mary Thompson, his brothers Ray Thompson and Bennie Thompson, his sister Betty T. Floyd, and by his niece Elaine Thompson. He was retired from Georgia Power and was a veteran of the United States Army. Arthur was an active member of Mount Zion Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, and Sunday School Teacher. He loved spending time with family and friends, fishing, and telling others about Jesus Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy Sauls Thompson. Son, Arthur (Beth) Thompson, Jr. Daughter, Jenny (Allen) Foskey. Sister, Marianne T. Patin. Six Grandchildren and Fourteen Great Grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends from 1:00PM to 3:00PM in the church before service.
