Earnest Lewis Jones, USAF Retired

DANVILLE, GA - Earnest Lewis Jones, 87, of Creekside Rd., passed away Saturday in the Carl Vinson VA Hospital in Dublin, GA.

Private services will be held Thursday October 27, 2022 at 2:30PM in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, GA.

Mr. Jones was born in Laurens County to the late Horace Clifton Jones and Lillian Estell Graham Jones. He was also preceded in death by his brother James Eston Jones. Mr. Jones served his country in the United States Air Force as a Tsgt during the Korean War and Vietnam. He loved and served his country in the Air Force for 20 years. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Mr. Jones loved old cars and trucks and enjoyed collecting old coins. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Danville, GA.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Lorraine Walker Jones of Danville; son, Richard A. Jones (Lynn); daughters, Cynthia Jones Bizaillion of Danville and Gwendolyn Jones Coleman (Ray) of TN; brothers, Darriel Jones (Elaine) of Eastman and Milton Jones (Patricia) of Eastman; sister-in-law Mary Lou Jones; grandchildren, Shawn Coleman (Katie), Seth Coleman (Tori), Lindsey Jones, Heather Mullis (Eric), Joshua Watkins (Amanda) and Rachel Bostian (Donnie); great grandchildren, Eve and Caleb, Gavin and Emma, Ragan and Jordyn, and Jaxson; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
