Gertie Hutto Ogles

Macon, GA


Gertie Hutto Ogles, 84, passed away July 16, 2024 in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held 3 pm Sunday July 21, 2024 in Antioch Baptist Church in Dry Branch, GA. Burial will follow in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Tim Wofford will be officiating.


Mrs. Ogles was born in Columbus, GA to the late Charlie C. Hutto and Perry Lee Saxon Hutto. She was also preceded in death by her husband Marion Estil “Jerry” Ogles. She worked along side her husband in the restaurant and truck stop industry, and also assisted him in his love for training race horses. Mrs. Ogles also help her husband own a dairy farm. She loved animals of all kind. In her later years she discovered her love for woodworking, Poetry was also a love of hers, and she wrote many beautiful poems. Mrs. Ogles also enjoyed cooking for her family. Most of all she loved her auction family, where she developed friendships that she cherished dearly. She could never understand why people were so loving towards her. She had a spirit about her, sometimes gruff, most times loving. She loved to laugh and make others laugh with her. She was loved by all that knew her. She will be missed.


Survivors include daughters, Kim Beasley and Cindy Flowers and son in law Robert Flowers, whom she loved like her own son; 5 Grandchildren, Geb Beasley (April) Sherry Dalena Wilson (Ardy), Vista Lee Beasley, Matthew Jeremiah Beasley (Natasha), Charlie Marion Zickgraf (Joseph); 12 Great Grandchildren; 5 Great-Great Grandchildren.


The family will receive friends 2-3pm before the service at Antioch Baptist Church
