Mae C. Merritt MONTROSE – Mae Cannon Merritt, 94, of Old Macon Rd. passed away Saturday at her residence. Graveside services will be held Tuesday January 5, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Rev. Jeff Alligood will officiate. Mrs. Merritt was born in Montrose, GA in the same house she passed away in. She was the daughter of the late Hardy B. and Elleott Cook Cannon. She was the widow of the late Marvin B. Merritt, and was preceded in death by her son Terry C. Cannon, and her sister in laws, Peggy Cannon and Shirley Cannon. She was retired from Robins Air Force Base. Mae was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. Survivors include her brothers, James R. Cannon, Joel H. Cannon, and J. Patrick Cannon. Nieces and nephews, Suzanne Arthur, Fehl Cannon, Deborah (Randy) Manning, Kim (Woodrow) Little, Keith (Jennifer) Merritt, and Terri Bennett. The family will receive friends from 10:30AM to 11:00AM before the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wesley Chapel UMC Cemetery Fund.
