JEFFERSONVILLE – Michael T. Land, 75, of Tommy Thompson Rd., passed away Monday January 9, 2023 at his residence.


Services will be held Saturday January 14, 2023 at 1:00PM in the chapel of Reece Funeral Home in Jeffersonville. Rev. Ken Land will officiate.


Mr. Land was born in Twiggs County, the son of the late Roland and Edna Thompson Land. He was the widower of the late Carolyn King Land, and was preceded in death by his brothers, Roland “Junie” Land Jr. and Kenny Land. Michael was retired from Robins Air Force Base. He was an Artist, and a former Teacher of History, Accounting and Art at Twiggs Academy. He was the former head of the Twiggs County Planning and Zoning. Michael was a member of the Cedar Creek Bluegrass Band where he played the spoons.


Survivors include his children, Michelle (Dave) Silva, Dallas (Pamela) Land and Darrell (Tracy) Land. Grandchildren, Jake (Kristie) Silva, Katie Silva, Foggy Madison, Julie Land, Kaytria Land, Andrew Land, Olivia Land, Carina Land and Ian Land. Brother Dennis (Tim) Land. Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.


The family will receive friends from 11:00am to 1:00pm Saturday before the service.
