DANVILLE, Amber Sanders Smith, 29, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 24, 2018. Funeral Services to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, at 300 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Danville. Amber will lie in state in the church from 200 until 300 p.m. Interment will be in Prospect United Methodist Church Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest beside her precious cousin and first friend, Cassie Thompson, who preceded her in death. Flowers are appreciated or the family respectfully requests that memorial contributions be made to C5 Farms, LLC, where they use horseback riding as a therapeutic or rehabilitative treatment for special needs children, located in Rome, Georgia. Contributions may be mailed to 776 Brock Road, Fort Valley, Georgia 31030. Amber grew up in Twiggs County and was a 2007 graduate of Twiggs County High School and attended Cool Springs Church in Danville. She always knew she would spend most of her life caring for others, and she did just that. A loving and caring soul all of her life, Amber, under the guidance of her Papa, nurtured and raised a large number of goats, squirrels, dogs, and cats through the years. Her father was her first love, and the two of them had a special bond, held tightly by their love for one another and the grace of God. He taught her how to love the outdoors and spend time hunting, enjoying the blessings that nature has to offer. Amber taught horseback riding to children and spent many hours throughout her lifetime on the back of a horse. In recent years, Amber was a preschool teacher at Childcare Network in Warner Robins. In 2015, she married the love of her life, Kyle Smith. She had never been happier or prouder than the day she became his wife. She took pride in their home, decorating and redecorating, to create a warm and inviting atmosphere in which the couple would spend their life. They were (two peas in a pod), inseparable, and spending time with their families is what Amber loved to do. She treasured all of the special times and wonderful memories made with her extended family members and friends and will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Amber was preceded in death by her cousin and first friend, Cassie Thompson, and her grandmothers, Vera Keene and Betty Rose Thompson. Left to cherish the memories of Amber are her loving and devoted husband, Kyle Smith, her parents, Danny and Holly Stoffell Sanders, and Betty Jo Boyd, her sisters, Holly Sanders, Dani Sanders Smith (Taylor), Grace Peavy, Griffin Peavy , and Brooke Boyd, her mother and father in law, Winnie and Claude Nobles, her grandparents, Norma and Larry Thompson, Wayne and Cathy Stoffell, and Johnny and Betty Phillips, and her brother in law, Kasey Smith (Dana). Aunts and Uncles, Brandi (Jason) McGonagill, Bud (Christie) Thompson, Sandra Poteete, Robin (Bill) ONeal, and Jan Boyd. Numerous cousins also survive. Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.reecefuneralhomeinc.com. Reece Funeral Home in Jeffersonville has been entrusted with the arrangements.
