DANVILLE – Betty Thompson Floyd, 83, of Floyd Lane, went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday. April 19, 2023 at her residence.

Services will be held Friday April 21, 2023 at 2:00pm in the chapel of Reece Funeral Home in Jeffersonville. Arthur Thompson, Jr. and Harold Reece, Jr. will be officiating. Burial will follow at Prospect United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Floyd was born in Danville, GA to the late Alvin Thompson and Mae Lynn Thompson. She was also preceded in death by her husband Joel D. “Winkie” Floyd and siblings Ben E. Thompson, Ray Thompson, and infant sister Mary. Mrs. Betty was retired manager of the Twiggs County High School Cafeteria after working in nutrition for 20 years. She loved visits with her family and friends, watching her birds and riding around looking for deer.

Survivors include her children, Rita F. Berry, and Joel Dupree “J.D.” (Melissa) Floyd, Jr. Grandchildren, Shannon Cameron (Nick), Heather Berry, Jody Floyd (Kayte), and Trae Bowen (Hannah). Nine Great Grandchildren Chance, Gage, Brayden, Hank, Auria, Paisley, Kinsley, Skylar, Dahlia. Brother Arthur (Patsy) Thompson, and Sister Mary Ann Patin.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
