MACON – With sadness and love, the family of Betty Lou Myers Land of Macon, announces her passing on Tuesday at her residence at the age of 91 after a long and happy life.

Services will be held Friday, June 23, 2023 at 2:00PM at Stone Creek Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Dr. Mark Grinsted and Dr. Richard McNair will officiate.

Mrs. Land was born in Ozark, AL the third of fifteen children of the late Ernest and Mary Charles Myers. She was the widow of the late Joel Land and was preceded in death by her first husband Johnny Hyde, her grandson, Brian Stuart, her son in laws, Glenn Stuart and Emmitt Mitchum, and by numerous siblings. She was a former employee of Bibb Manufacturing Co., Sears, and was a manager with Merle Norman Cosmetics. Betty was a member of Stone Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Jane Stuart. Grandchildren, Amanda Stuart, Adam (Annie) Stuart, Jenny Stuart, and Jon (Ashley) Stuart. Great Grandchildren, Juliahna Stuart, Jonah Campbell, June Stuart, Scout Stuart, and Asher Stuart.

Flowers are appreciated, or donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601 or to the American Heart Association at 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231.

The family will receive friends from 1:00PM to 2:00PM before the service in the church.
