DRY BRANCH – Beverly Elaine Clayton Bowden, 76, of Riggins Mill Rd., passed away Monday April 20, 2026 at her residence.

Services will be held Thursday April 23, 2026 at 11:00AM at Stone Creek Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Dr. Joey Ellis and Dr. Richard McNair will officiate.

Mrs. Bowden was born in Macon, GA the daughter of the late Thomas Bernard Clayton and Eugenia Mattie Scott Clayton. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter Chrislee Faith Gay and by her brothers Jack Clayton and Tom Clayton. Beverly was ordained as a Minister by Dr. Donnie Sutton and was active in the Lighthouse Prison Ministry and the World Vision Homeless Ministry for over 25 years. She was a pianist and vocalist for “Whispers of Praise” gospel group. Beverly was a member of Stone Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband James I. Bowden. Her sons Donnie (Dorean) Crook, and Johnny Stapleton. Her daughters, Tonya (Scott) Blevins and Danielle (Bobby) Gay. Her brother Carl (Tammy) Clayton and her sister Berniece Eubank. Her sixteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 10:00AM to 11:00AM in the church before services.
