DANVILLE, GA – David Lee “Dave” Middleton, 74, of Cool Springs Rd. passed away Saturday January 25, 2025 at his residence.

Visitation will be held Thursday January 30, 2025 at 1:00 PM to 2:00PM in historic Old Richland Baptist Church. Services will immediately follow the visitation. Burial will be Friday January 31, 2025 at 2:00PM in Carolina Memorial Gardens in North Charleston, South Carolina. Rev. Brad East, Pastor Matt Green, and Pastor Jeff Barron will officiate.

Mr. Middleton was born in Pittsfield, Illinois, the son of the late William Earl Middleton and Virginia Reel Middleton. He was preceded in death by his wife Gretta Sullivan Middleton, and his sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl and Charles Rheynard.

Dave proudly served his country in the United States Navy as an ordinance mechanic aboard the USS Sam Houston. His career at McDonnell Douglas/Boeing spanned 31 years (1978-2009) supporting the US Air Force as the Technical Order Publications manager for the F-4 and F-15 aircraft support equipment. Dave later served the USAF (2009-2015) as the CV-22 Flight Manual manager.

After retirement, Mr. Middleton remained active in his county, serving as President of the Richland Restoration League, as an Executive member of the Twiggs County GOP and volunteering as a tutor for the Jeffersonville Elementary School reading program.

Mr. Middleton was an active member of Dudley Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife Elaine Fowler Johnson Middleton, his sons, Benjamin (Sarah) Middleton and Robert (Meghan) Middleton, his Step-Daughters, Jeri(Terry) Johnson Fountain, Janice LaDonna Johnson, and Kenna Elaine Johnson Moceri, his Brother, Gregg (Regina) Middleton and seven grandchildren.
