Dora Mae Floyd
Allentown, GA - Dora Mae Floyd, age 94, passed away on May 11, 2026 in Allentown, GA.
She was born on September 12, 1931 to the late Harvey Levi Sauls and Mina Mae Sauls. Dora Mae spent most of her life in Allentown, Georgia.
Dora Mae dedicated 28 years of service at Robins Air Force Base, where she worked as a Supervisor until her retirement. She loved God and her family deeply, and her faith and devotion were evident in the way she lived her life.
She was the widow of the late James Ray (Jimmy) Floyd, Sr and was preceded in death by her siblings, Clyde Sauls, Pelton Sauls, Annie Bell Sauls Stone, Lavera Sauls Rickerson, Hazel Sauls Fowler, and Velma Lee Sauls Hasty.
Dora Mae leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory: her children, Gail (Carl) Bowman of Danville, GA; Ray (Gail) Floyd of Danville, GA; and Darrell (Samantha) Floyd of Danville, GA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Scott Bowman, Brandi (Brice) Rozier, Tiffany (James) Lamb, Anna Floyd, Brandon Floyd, and Lucas Floyd; great-grandchildren, Kenna Bowman, Dylan Bowman, Briley Rozier, Bailey Rozier, Brayley Floyd, Nolan Lamb and Lexi Lamb.
A devoted member of Danville Methodist Church, Dora found joy in simple pleasures. She loved God, fishing, going to the lake, beach, and, above all, spending time with her family.
The family would also like to express their heartfelt love and gratitude to her devoted caregivers, Doris Blackshear and Vetrina Fountain, along with the amazing staff at Georgia Hospice Care, for the compassionate care, kindness, and support they provided to Dora over the years.
Dora will be laid to rest at Cool Springs Church in Danville, GA on Thursday, May 14, 2026. Visitation for family and friends will take place at 2:00 p.m., followed by a service inside Cool Springs Church at 3:00 p.m. and then a graveside service at Cool Springs Cemetery to celebrate her life. All friends and family are invited to attend.
Family and friends are welcome to gather or stop by the home of Carl and Gail Bowman at 2318 Hwy 112 Danville, GA to visit with the family and pay their respects during this time.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her
