Jerry Gill Harrell DRY BRANCH – Jerry Gill Harrell, 70, passed away Thursday at his residence. Services will be held Thursday March 12, 2020 at 11:30 AM at Reece Funeral Home. Rev. Charles Carter will officiate. Jerry Gill Harrell born October 6, 1949 to the late Gwendolyn and Jack Harrell in Douglas, GA. Jerry receive Jesus Christ as a young boy and he thought he might become a preacher but life took a different path as it does in most of us. He attended Paxton High School in Jacksonville FL. He joined the US Army in 1966 and served Honorable in Vietnam and was discharged in 1972. He got married while serving in the US Army in Texas and had a son Derrick Zett who he loved very much and he also loved family, friends and his dogs. Jerry also lost his wife Karen Giddens Harrell five months prior to his own death and now they are in Heaven together. Jerry has worked on major construction sites like The Dames Point Bridge the largest bridge in Jacksonville, Florida. He traveled in the state of Florida and Georgia and worked on these large site to completion. He retired in 2009 and receive long overdue pension for his service in Vietnam. We all love him and will miss him until we see him again in heaven! Survivors include his son, Derrick (SteFyne) Zettt. Granddaughter, McKenna Zett. Siblings, Jacqueline Osteen, Angelia (Floyd) White, Debbie (Chris) Hale, Donna (Roger) Wheeler, and Darren (Sarah) Harrell. Visit www.reecefuneralhomeinc.com to express tributes.
