MACON – Jimmie Wayne Cannon, Sr., 88, of Hammock Rd., passed away Wednesday in Macon.

Graveside services will be held Sunday May 7, 2023 at 2:00PM in New Haven Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Sam Loyd will officiate.

Mr. Cannon was born in Macon, GA the son of the late James Elton Cannon and Beulah Lee Leslie Cannon. He was preceded in death by his sister Agnes Geraldine “Dean” Cannon Grubbs. He was the Valedictorian of the Class of 1952 graduating from Twiggs County/Smith High School. Mr. Cannon was a retired Electrical Inspector with the City of Macon. He was a member of New Haven Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Geraldine Moore Cannon. His Son, Jimmie Wayne (Niki) Cannon, Jr. Grandchildren, Lindsey (Jonathan Blayne) Wimberly, Tanner Wayne Thomas, and Lailah Drake Thomas. Great Grandchildren, Tyson Ross Thomas, and Wyatt Grant Thomas. Sister in law, Katherine Stevens. Nephew Buster (Willene) Grubbs

The family will receive friends from 1:00PM to 2:00PM at New Haven Baptist Church.
