DANVILLE – Joseph Miller “Joe” Stone, 89, passed away Saturday January 20, 2024 in Macon.


Mr. Joe was a lifelong resident of Twiggs County. He was the son of the late Wilbur and Claudia F. Stone, and the widower of 67 years to the late Lola F. Stone. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and was a retired Shop Foreman with Imery’s Kaolin after 40 years of service.


Joe was preceded in death by seven brothers, Tommie, Jack, John, George, Terry, Jerald, and infant Claude Stone. By one sister Lois S. Adkins.


Mr. Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, and above all, loved his family, especially children. To know Joe, was to love Joe. He was a rock to many. He coached little league baseball for several years and was an avid golfer, who played as often as he could. He was also a bowling league member for many years.


When greeted, he would always say “I’m Just Right”.


Survivors include his sisters, Sarah Brown, “Cookie” Davis, and Dale Wynn. One brother, Richard Stone.


The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Thursday at Reece Funeral Home,


Funeral Services will be held Friday January 26, 2024 at 2:00PM, at Prospect Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Harold Reece, Jr, Mike Sapp and Nick Hazelton will officiate.
