With profound sadness and heartfelt love, we announce the passing of Melinda Heffelfinger Fain, a devoted wife, faithful Christian, cherished friend, and loving mother in every way that truly mattered.

Services will be held Saturday July 11, 2026 at 11:00AM at Stone Creek Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Dr. Richard McNair will officiate.

Melinda was born in Columbus, Ohio, on July 22, 1962, and made her home in Dry Branch, Georgia, where she lived for the past 26 years. She dedicated 15 years of service to Walmart, where she was known for her caring heart, warm smile, and genuine love for people.

Melinda found joy in sewing, coloring, crafting beautiful flowers, cooking, and baking. Her homemade cookies were the best! She enjoyed games on her phone, girls' days out getting her nails done and thrifting, and taking trips.

She adored her dogs, Scrappy and especially Tu Tu, who brought her endless comfort and happiness.

A devoted member Of Stone Creek Baptist Church, Melinda loved the Lord with all her heart. She faithfully attended worship, loved her Sunday School class, and found great joy singing in the church choir.

In recent years, Melinda brought joy to children during the Christmas season as

Mrs. Claus alongside her beloved husband, Frank D. Fain, who was her Mr. Claus and the love of her life. Together they created treasured memories and shared the spirit of Christmas with countless families.

Although Melinda had no biological children, she had a mother's heart. Many people called her "Mom," and she loved them fiercely, always offering encouragement, guidance, and unconditional love.

Those closest to her will always remember her evening swims in the pool, where the water eased her aching back and gave her peace. It's a memory we will carry with us forever.
