JEFFERSONVILLE – Robert Eugene “Gene” “Pop-A-Top” Sauls, 88, of Hwy 96 passed away Tuesday in Macon.

Services will be held Friday November 18, 2022 at 11:00AM in Reece Funeral Home. Private burial will be in Macon Memorial Park. Rev. Gary Walker will officiate.

Mr. Sauls was born in Twiggs County, GA, the son of the late Jim and Lillian Sauls Sauls. He was the widow of the late Margaret Jeannie McCord Sauls and was preceded in death by his siblings, James Hansel Sauls, Katie “Leo” Raley, and Fannie Mae Barron. Gene was a retired mechanic with Bibb Manufacturing. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War. He was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his daughter, Denise (Glynn) Brantley. Grand Daughters, Danielle (Frankie) Pennone, and Holly (C.J.) Norris. Great Grandchildren, Jacob Pennone, Millie Norris, D.J. Pennone, Jaden Woods, and Caitlyn Byram. Sisters, Patsy (Arthur) Thompson, and Mildred Peek. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends from 5:00PM to 7:00PM Thursday in the funeral home.
